Space USB Final Review Meeting with the European Commission

The Space USB consortium recently held its final review meeting with representatives of the European Commission and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA), marking the formal conclusion of the project under the Horizon Europe programme.

The meeting provided an opportunity to present the project’s main achievements, including the development of a Common Passive Interface (CPI) concept and the associated technical specifications aimed at ensuring interoperability between major European standard interfaces.

A key highlight of the review was a live technical demonstration, showcasing the developed interface concept and illustrating its operational capabilities in terms of mechanical compatibility, alignment tolerance, and functional integration. This demonstration allowed reviewers to assess the maturity of the solution and its relevance for future on-orbit servicing and modular assembly applications.

The consortium would like to thank the European Commission and HaDEA for their guidance and support throughout the project. The results of Space USB contribute to strengthening Europe’s position in the field of standardised, interoperable, and sustainable space infrastructures, supporting long-term ambitions for serviceable and modular orbital systems.
