advisory board
The expected impact of the project will be achieved by involving external Space stakeholders directly into the project various activities (including specification and demonstration) through a dedicated Advisory Board. Through their attendance of 2 planned Workshops, they will contribute to deliver highly scientific and business-relevant tools to support the targeted industrial groups.
· A first workshop will be held to debate around the definition of the specification of a universal and serial connector (USB-like) able to mechanically connect two space elements and to provide data and power transfer between them when assembled on orbit.
· A second workshop will be held to debate around the definition of the adaptability of the existing SIs to the new proposed standards. The demonstration plan of the proposed technology will be also discussed.
An advisory board composed of 6 members from research and industry with multiple field of applications has been consolidated for the project:
Airbus Defense and Space: Airbus Defence and Space (ADS) is one of the three divisions of the Airbus Group, specializing in military aircraft, drones, missiles, space launchers and artificial satellites.
Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR): DLR is the Federal Republic of Germany’s research centre for aeronautics and space. They conduct research and development activities in the fields of aeronautics, space, energy, transport, security and digitalisation.
SpaceLocker: SpaceLocker builds space infrastructure to host your payload for a fraction of the price, maximum flexibility and less space debris.
Thales Alenia Space Italy: Thales Alenia Space, a joint venture between Thales and Leonardo, is a manufacturing company in the global space sector that has been providing high-tech solutions for Telecommunications, Navigation, Earth Observation, environmental management, scientific research and orbital infrastructure for more than four decades.
OHB-System: OHB is a German space and technology group and one of the leading independent forces in the European space industry. With many years of experience in the implementation of demanding projects, OHB SE is excellently positioned to face international competition and can offer its customers a broad portfolio of innovative products in its three business segments SPACE SYSTEMS, AEROSPACE and DIGITAL.
European Space Agency (ESA): ESA is an intergovernmental organization dedicated to space exploration. It coordinates the efforts of European countries in developing and launching space missions, conducting scientific research, and driving technological innovation.
